Dashcam Captures Hamilton’s Bespoke Pagani Zonda 760 LH Crashing

The driver of the Pagani Zonda 760 LH crashed after pinning the throttle while driving in a tunnel in North Wales

Last week, the one-off Pagani Zonda 760 LH formerly owned by Lewis Hamilton was seriously damaged in an accident in the UK. Now, dashcam footage from a car that was following the Pagani has surfaced online, showing the moment of the crash, revealing just how it occurred.

The crash took place shortly after the driver of the Zonda entered the Panmaenbach Tunnel on the A55 highway in Conwy, North Wales. In the video, we can see (and hear) that the driver aggressively pinned the throttle of the powerful Italian as soon as they reached the tunnel, inevitably in an attempt to unleash the car’s 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 and the glorious soundtrack it produces.

However, the moment we can hear the car’s engine being unleashed, the rear wheels lose traction and the car spears to the left, slamming into the side of the tunnel. It then bounces across the two lanes of the tunnel and hits the right side of the tunnel, explaining how the car managed to suffer extensive damage on both the left and right sides.

Immediately after the crash, the driver brings the Pagani to a stop and can be seen getting out, signaling to other road users that they are uninjured.

Images shared online after the crash show that the front quarter panel and front wheel on the driver’s side have been badly damaged and that the windshield was cracked. We can also see that both the wheels on the passenger side have been pushed out of position, indicating the car also suffered serious suspension damage in the collision. Considering the force of the impacts, it’s quite remarkable that the carbon fiber body panels haven’t suffered more damage as we’re sure a less exotic car would have been completely destroyed in a similar crash.
