Ngong: Suspected Thug Exposes His Face on CCTV while Trying to Dismantle Security Light

Kajiado - Closed-circuit television (CCTV) has been a game changer in securing homes and establishments.

Its ability to store footage for future reference has been hailed for helping deter and solve incidents that were captured.

In a CCTV footage shared by Uzalendo, a suspected thief has been exposed after he was recorded by one of the cameras.

The young man in a green hoodie can be seen working to ensure his face is obscured from the cameras at the gate of a compound in Ngong.

He scales the gate wall before he tries to tamper with the angle of the camera, which he misses and falls with a thud.

On a second attempt, the man tried his luck at vandalising the camera, but his hood fell off before he could do so, leaving him exposed for all to see.

According to the CCTV footage's time stamp, the events were recorded on Friday at 2:43am.

In related news, CCTV footage showed how thugs broke into houses before making away with electronics in Syokimau, Machakos county.

One footage showed two armed robbers breaking into an apartment on Friday, June 16, in the daytime.

The two are captured in the CCTV carting away a television and other items before placing them in a vehicle parked outside.

The CCTV cameras captured the registration number of the vehicle used by the robbers. In another incident, one armed robber is also captured breaking into a house before taking off with a TV.

Separately, a CCTV footage showed how two suspected thugs robbed a man inside a car in Santon, Kasarani.

In the chilling clip, which went viral on Sunday, July 2, a male driver alights from a Toyota Probox and opens the gate of a house, ready to reverse into the residence.

As he heads back to the car, two assailants emerge from the darkness. Seeing the duo donning black trousers and jackets, the driver scampered for safety.

The two suspected thugs converged at the car and brandished what appeared to be guns. They asked another man who was in the vehicle to open it.

The victim surrendered and was led outside, where he was ordered to lie on the ground. The two ransacked the car and stole valuables of an undisclosed amount.

Later, the victim, who was on the ground, stood up, and after ascertaining the robbers had left, he rushed to the house to seek help.
